SERIES TWO-Post Pandemic | Planning a wedding during COVID-19 Level 1

Lovelies; Welcome back to Wild&Whims’ series on planning a wedding during Covid-19 Level 1. In blog one of our COVID-19 series we discussed the ins and outs of picking a wedding date and how to go about including overseas loved ones who are restricted by the border lockdown.

Now that the date is set and you have begun the process of contacting loved ones overseas to explain how you will be including them in your wedding, the exciting details continue. It is time to contact your dream venue and vendors. We will give helpful tips when it comes to choosing all your favourite venues, vendors, and styling goodies.

How to Choose your vendors post-pandemic:

This is an exciting time. You get to look into what stunning venues and talented vendors are in your area. It is important to know what style you are desiring for your wedding. This is the foundation to which you choose where to have your wedding, and what creative vendor you chose. Check out our services to see how Wild&Whim can help with this.

When your design style has been chosen, and you have done your site visits to a few of your venue options, it is time to put your top choices together so you can choose your number ones. It can be helpful to know what venues offer on different days in their packages. Dependent on the venue, some have different prices for each day of the week. Since Covid-19, venues have lost a pocket of income due to lockdown. Now, because of the closure of borders, it means you can support your top local venues.

Wild&Whim has found that weekday weddings post-pandemic are the best days to book in for a few reasons:

  1. Weddings over the lockdown period have been pushed to later dates. This means the next wedding season is going to be a busy one. Weekend dates are booking fast.

  2. Venues are often available on weekdays.

  3. Vendors are much more likely to be available on weekdays. The whole process of locking in your vendors will be smoother.

Top tips on making what you love the priority within a budget:

From florists to prop hire to table hire and more, it is important for you to prioritize what you love the most. It is important to have other options in mind when it comes to having the vendors and styling you love.

Here are some of our favourite ways of incorporating your favourite vendors and styling when needing to work within your budget during Level 1:

  • Going local by choosing your favourite vendors nearby.

  • Once you have received a quote from one of your preferred vendors, make sure you keep track of who has offered what.

  • Spend your money on what you love. There are always ways to make it work.

    • Love flowers → Have a nicer bouquet by cutting back on table decor.

    • Love ambiance → Hire more candles and choose a smaller bouquet.

Now that you have a list of all your preferred vendors and their quotes, make sure they are within your budget. Then it is time to lock them in and sign your contracts (Refer to Blog One for tips).

You are one step closer to having your stunning wedding day booked in!
