Kelsey + Hugh’s Wedding day

Kelsey and Hugh have one of those Hollywood serendipitous romantic stories. Hugh is from New Zealand and Kelsey was living in Los Angeles. They met the night before Hugh returned home from his travels. And here in New Zealand a few years later, the two were getting married. Their day was filled with love, laughter and impeccable style.

The ceremony and reception were held at the stunning Officers Mess nestled in the hills of Takapuna. With stunning panoramic views looking across to Rangitoto Island for the ceremony and cocktail hour. Drinks were served just a few steps away at the beautiful old Villa. It is safe to say that we are big fans of venues which have pretty much everything you need. We had the fun role of coordinating the day and styling to bring their dreams to life.

When we first met with Kelsey, we were so excited to be a part of another Jewish wedding. This meant a stunning Chuppah to adorn with draped blush chiffon and florals to frame the couple and the view. Making sure there was glass to smash under Hugh’s foot as they said their “I do’s”.

As the day commenced, the couple and all their friends and family had pictures taken by the talented Peter Letu. As they walked down the lawn to the patio, bartenders served Champagne and Beer as they lounged on the stunning suite from Two Foxes Rentals in the sun and chatted.

For the reception, guests were welcomed by the handwritten gold seating chart, and a delicious meal prepared by the Officers Mess in house Award-Winning Chef. Tables were adorned with white linens, taper candles and florals. When Dessert came, everyone (including us) were in awe of the 4 tier layered chocolate chip cookie cake by Moustache.

Kelsey and Hugh had one of the best after-parties yet with dancing, being lifted up in chairs and the DJ bringing all the hits!

We adored this couple and their love. Here’s to love, serendipity, romance and all things blush pink.
